Akhnaton is an American school. It is more than a building housing teachers and students, All of the children , staff , parents and volunteers instill a family atmosphere of love , concern and responsibility. Akhnaton is a family one in which warmth and security arre built upon the foundation of love, joy , peace and faith. Area staff members are integral to the school community. As in a family , all members must give time and effort for the family to function at its best.

At Akhnaton American students see daily examples of people making contributions for the school's benefit, whether it is the principal , a teacher , or a parent helping with office work , lunch supervision , teacher coffee breaks or teacher aides . Students do not just hear what it means to become a responsible adult, the older students are given opportunities to help younger ones. Also, through bulletin boards, plays, recitals, sports programs and assemblies , all members of the school family can encourage and appreciate the accomplishments and talents of the others in the school
